Style: Coral on Colfax

Last week I took some "alone" time to visit East Colfax and snap some pics and explore. Not your first thought of a place to explore, let alone when you are expecting, but a little flavor and culture doesn't scare me. In fact, this area is becoming quite the mecca for art! I want to point out here that my stepmother and dad actually ran an art gallery here several years ago before they moved away. This area of Colfax is also home to the Fox Theater, AND, I discovered, the Kim Robards Modern Dance school! Had no idea she moved over here! I had passed this Mexican Bakery, El Paisa Panaderia, so many times before, but last week was the perfect opportunity for me to try it since I was out and about on foot. I knew about churros, so of course I got one of those to try, but they had cases full of colorful pastries that beckoned a bite! I ended up taking home a couple others for us to try.

I will admit, there were a couple sideways glances and cat calls from the locals, yes this bump still gets cat calls (but it's East Colfax) but I had a great time looking at the sculpture and murals along the Downtown Aurora Visual Arts district, or DAVA area.
